Foundation Review: Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid
I was on a hunt for a new drugstore foundation and Maybelline never seems to fail me here. I chose their "new" Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in the colour 20 - Cameo.
The foundation ranges in 5 colours, I am using the lightest which is good for my skin tone in the winter, might need to move up a colour in the summer.
It retails for about 11Euros and is available in most drugstores!
They sell it as a light weight but full coverage foundation and it is supposed to leave you with no pores visible as well as a satin, glowing finish to your skin.
Because I have dry skin I did wonder whether the foundation will fit my needs as there is no difference between skin types and when I first tried this foundation out I was also unsure about the consistency and whether it would look cakey when on my face - it is quite a thick foundation in terms of formula (and definitely does not run down the back of your hand when you swatch it).
However I was pleasantly surprised when applying it. It goes on well with fingers or a brush - so use whatever you feel more comfortable with!
I do see some minimisation in my pore size on my overall face, however there are still a few here and there but I'm perfectly fine with that. However I would say it is in no way a full coverage foundation. It gave me a medium coverage. I prefer medium coverage foundations anyway so if you do too - this will be perfect for you! I did like the overall look the foundation gave my face, it blended in very well, didn't look cakey and gave me a nice glow!! :) Had no problem with flaky skin or anything either.
Overall I am very pleased with this medium coverage foundation and would purchase it again!
I will be adding personal photos tomorrow, when the lighting is better!
